Lu's First Litter: Born September 2012

April 18th, 2013...

Wow!!!  We can hardly fathom that it's been five months since we said good-bye to Wrigley and LuLu's first litter of doodles and bid them all the best in their new homes.  They are now 7 months old and from all accounts doing very well, which we couldn't be happier to hear!  Many of their owners have been wonderful to stay in touch and let us know how their pups have transitioned, and we've got the pictures to prove it---take a look!!!

Roux...

at six weeks old...
at four months...

This is the 'perfectly poised' Roux at 7 months old.

I ask you, does this not look like a painting?!?!

Okay, I have to throw this one in, too...

Roux enjoying the luxury of a 'lap dog'!

A word from Roux's guys:

"Where do we start???? We don't know how we lived without Roux! She is the BEST puppy we have ever had and we absolutely adore her. She is super easy to train, very laid back, and loves other animals and all people! She will do almost anything for a treat:) She loves going for walks, playing fetch, her crate, going to the park, her duck toys, and her humans (of course!)

Roux loves being outside and playing with other dogs. We take her to the dog park 2-3 times a week and receive constant  compliments about how beautiful and well behaved she is:) She loves to run and play but is very calm inside. Even though she is big she plays well with small dogs too. Roux has never chewed on our personal belongings-it's almost like she knows.

We don't think that we will ever own another breed of dog. We've even talked about getting one of Roux's future brothers or sisters. If you are reading this and are on the fence about getting a puppy from the Mcgonagill's-DO IT! You'll be so glad you did! Wrigley and LuLu's puppies are something special:)

Thank you, Mcgonagill's! We can't imagine life without Roux!"- The Nelson's, Dallas TX

Clutch...

what a pair!!!

at six weeks old...

comfy couch potatoes :-}

It is clear to see that this furry guy is not lacking for company!  Clutch is right at home with his family in the Central Texas area and would appear to have come 'into the game' at just the right time!! ;-)

Red...

at six weeks old...

 Red was perhaps one of the hardest puppies to see go because he stayed with us a bit longer than the rest while his family was traveling.  Red went to one of our son's best buddies, and we hear he is doing great!  We can't wait to see him and 'his people' on our next trip to Texas!!  :-}

Red graduates from 'puppy school'!!!

A word from Red's guys:

"We have been so impressed by the easy-going temperament of our Golden Doodle.  He plays so wonderfully with our three children (ages 3-11) that we never worry.  It was also very encouraging to see that the home where he was born and nursed was a loving, family-centered home where the puppies were treated with such care and concern.   We received lots of helpful coaching from the McGonagill's on how to complete the training process as well as how to help Red make the adjustment to his new home.  He has been an absolute delight and is now a integral member of our family!"
- The McCarty's, Ft. Hood TX

Norman...

at six weeks...

Who could resist that face?!?!

Norman happens to live near one of his brothers, and they've had the opportunity on several occasions to get together for 'play dates'!  In the picture above, they're enjoying a good wrestling match!

A word from Norman's guys:

"Norman is the sweetest, most gentle, cuddle-bear we have ever met! He is very smart and has learned his commands quickly. He loves bath time, jogs around the neighborhood, fetch with one of his zillions of squeaky toys, chewing his bones, playing with his litter-twin, Charlie, and meeting new friends at the park! He loves to be the center of attention, which comes naturally to him and he is always the life of the party! He enjoys exploring but is also perfectly content snuggling up with us on the couch for a lazy afternoon. We could not be happier with the newest addition to our family!" - H. Kelly, Dallas TX

Shelby...

at six weeks...

 Shelby is right at home with her family outside of the Dallas area.  It would seem she is favoring her dear old mom these days!  She loves her walks around the neighborhood, and her family says they always get comments on what a lovely girl she is.  What a sweetheart!!!

Enjoying a bone!

She is such a fluffy girl!!!

What sweet 'siblings'... ;-}

Jake...

at six weeks...

Jake stole our hearts from the very beginning...he was always just such a sweetie!  We hear from his family that he has become 'their 4th child', enjoying playing with the kids and trying (but failing, it sounds like) to play with their cat.  Jake's family also has chickens, and he found them to be quite entertaining at first!  We also hear that Jake absolutely loves anything water-related--rain, puddles, the sprinkler, you name it.  We are so happy for Jake and his family!!  Now if only the chickens could say the same!  ;-}

Otis...

at six weeks...

Otis was the biggest of all the puppies, and hearing from his family, it sounds like that may still hold true!  He would seem to be the spitting image of his dad, which of course makes him one handsome fella!!  Otis has already done some training and may possibly do further training to be a therapy dog down the road.  Very exciting!  So glad to hear he is doing well!

Such a sweet family pic!  I love how Otis has his head tilted :-}

Charlie...

We remember Charlie being such a laid back fellow...I absolutely LOVE this pic of him below!  He and his litter mate, Norman, are close buds! :-}

So glad to know Charlie's doing well and gets to rough-house with his 'brother' on the occasional play date!!

Thanks to all of our DOODLE families who sent recent pics in and touched base with us to let us know how everything was going!  We so appreciate all of you!!!

November 6th, 2012...

So, we loaded up and headed to the vet this past week for first rounds of vaccinations.  Needless to say, it was.....interesting.  Hee hee.  They actually all did great!  It was quite the sight getting them there as you can see in the picture above.  And, per our veterinarian's okay, they all had outside time for the first time ever just a few days ago!  Take a look-see...{you'll have to forgive me, I went a little picture crazy!!}

Puppy pick-up is almost here!!!.....

October 28th, 2012...

Well, folks, I now have full appreciation of the saying "we've gone to the dogs"!!  Puppies, puppies everywhere!  They are now five weeks old as of this past Wednesday, and LuLu is in the process of weaning them.  We began soaking dry food in puppy formula, and now they have all graduated to straight dry puppy food.  They've also had two baths by now {a regular Saturday occurrence!}.  Lots of firsts these past two weeks.  Take a look at all the excitement...

Love, LOVE this picture!!!

Almost there...just another inch or two and this box ain't holding 'em!

 My guys hanging out with the pooches...

They have been great helpers through all our puppy endeavors!

I liked this photo op with Wrig and Lu off to the side and pups taking a "water break".

I just really like this picture I got of Lu.  Had to include it.

Okay.  We're in serious need of a trough!

Stay tuned for more to come...

October 8th, 2012...
Wow!!!  What an amazing past few weeks!  The puppies are going on three weeks old and are doing tremendous!  Their eyes are now opening, and they are finding their little legs and beginning to walk around in their whelping box.  They're finding their voices, too { a little something that we don't always find as thrilling, especially at 2 o'clock in the morning! But, hey, we're rolling with the punches here! }.

Good for more than just hauling laundry!  Here are our little fellows en route for dewclaw removals.

I love the way they pile on top of one another and sleep "single-file"!

Lu, having a rare but enjoyable puppy-free moment.

Back to work!

Meet Barney.  This little guy already has a sweet family down in Austin, TX he will be going home to in November.  He is absolutely full of personality.  I just know they are going to love him!

I daresay this is one of the cutest things you've seen this year!  Am I right??  Come on, you know I am!!!

September 2012

THE PUPPIES ARE HERE!!!

They have arrived!  LuLu's first litter made their debut Wednesday September 19th, 2012.  And what a litter it is, TEN puppies!!  She did beautifully, and they are absolute precious-ness.  We have 7 boys and 3 girls, and they are growing by the day.  Lu is such a sweet mama.

What a brood!!!

 The atmosphere around our house right now is definitely one of excitement!  We are all so very thrilled over our new additions {well, all except for Wrigley maybe, who's a little confused right now!}.  More than that, our family has been praying over Lu and these pups since we knew she was pregnant, asking that all the puppies be healthy, that LuLu would do well during the delivery, and that her instincts would kick in and she would know exactly what she needed to do as a new mother.  We are extremely grateful that the Lord has seen fit to answer those prayers.  So blessed.

Lu's Second Litter: Born July 2013

September 11th, 2013...

Well, Folks, we have had almost 8 weeks here in 'Oodles of Doodles-ville', and the time is drawing near for us to say 'good-bye' and send these furry guys and gals off to their new homes!!!  Of course, it's bittersweet, but we are very excited for our soon-to-be-doodle owners, and it's no question they're excited as well as they anticipate this upcoming weekend when they'll bring their new 'baby' home!  As this will most very likely be our last post on these pooches, I have gone picture crazy! Please forgive me.  And please enjoy!!

 This pup to the right must take after his ol' dad as he strikes a most regal of poses...

This pic is just waiting to be slapped on the front of a calendar, am I right?!?

 Our youngest had an immediate bond with this little fella, and we are so blessed in that he is going to a very loving family nearby.  I love to step back and watch the way GOD works, and I'll be the first to admit I don't do it often enough, but it amazes me sometimes in the things HE allows to be avenues of ministry for us and the ways in which HE connects our lives with those we might not otherwise have ever crossed paths with.  So grateful that the LORD saw fit to cross ours with "Jones's" future family!

 So, the puppies have to be uber supervised when in our backyard as they kinda can fit through the fence if they get a notion to.  Here, our youngest son runs interference should the pups decide the grass looks greener on the other side!

 He might not be so inclined to express it verbally how totally enamored my hubby is with these pups, but he is absolutely taken with them.  That's the only way he could do what he's done these past four weeks {build a box, build a shed, build another box, clean all three everyday--sometimes multiple times a day!}.  Thanks, my Love!

What a precious face to end on!  We look forward to staying in touch with all our adopting families, and we pray for easy transitions and long, happy and healthy lives for all our 'doods'. It has been a tremendous joy!!!

September 3rd, 2013...

Last Friday, the boys and I loaded up the pups and headed to the veterinarian for first round of shots.  It was quite the sight as you can see in the pic above!  Afterwards, and with our vet's go ahead, the pups were able to enjoy some 'grass time'!  They loved it!  And we loved watching them romp and tumble and roll....Lu, of course, was the ever-watchful mama, and Wrig was still a little hesitant as what to make of 'all these little small things' running around after him!

We had some family over this past weekend, and they loved playing with all the puppies!

After just a few minutes outside with the pups, Wrigley decides it's time to go back in.  Standing and waiting here like he's doing is his version of knocking!

Absolute preciousness!!!

Just hanging out waiting on his turn under the faucet...

After all the puppies had baths last week, we had a free-for-all and brought em' all to the couch for some snuggling!

Only one more week until these guys go to their new homes...it sure is going to be a lot quieter around here!  But we are so excited for all of our adopting families!!  They are in for a sweet time!!!

August 27th, 2013...

We had 'puppy's first bath' this past weekend, and quite the endeavor it turned out to be, Ladies and Gentlemen!  It took no less than the whole family pitching in to get the job done.  We were like a little puppy cleaning assembly line--one boy gets a dirty pup and takes to Dad where Dad bathes pup and hands off to another boy with towel in hand and takes to Mom to towel and blow dry the shivering baby who then hands newly (but very short-lived) clean pup off to whichever boy is available to take pup to the 'clean box'.  WHEW!!!  I'm tired all over again just thinking about it!  But by the time it was all said and done, we were like a well-oiled puppy cleaning machine, and we were able to kick back afterwards and enjoy the fruits of our labor--cuddling with our much better smelling pooches!!!

The boys enjoy kisses and cuddles from clean puppies!

I love this pic one of the boys took...it looks like he's crying, but he's just had his snout in the water bowl!

Now, is that not just the cutest thing ever?!?!

Above, they're all pooped out after their first big bath day...it's hard work getting clean.  Now, if only we could figure out a way for them to stay clean...!

August 22nd, 2013...

We have officially begun dry food, ladies and gentlemen!  And the real 'fun' has begun as these pups get bigger and messier!!  But we wouldn't trade it for anything....We love the way they gather round the water bowl as they're doing here in the pic to the left.

Think 'inside the box'...

Weighing time...look away for the lady, Gents!

These two look like they could make a lot of mischief together if you ask me!

Too precious for words.

August 13th, 2013...

Wow!  What an eventful past two weeks!!  The puppies are finally up and at 'em and acting like little doggies.  They're barking, yelping, growling {this one's especially funny to hear}, and playing with one another.  It really is quite the show to just sit back and watch them!  Here's a peek into the past couple of weeks:

Surprisingly, we have not had to supplement the puppies like you might would think.  They have all been gaining weight quite well, considering there's twelve of them!  We've just bottle-fed a few for fun more than anything else.  It helps at times to pull the bigger ones away from 'Mom' and supplement them so as to let the smaller ones get 'Mom's' milk.  Here, our oldest son enjoys having a go at feeding one of the little tikes!

Crowded out...

TWINS...ha!!!

hmmm....sharing secrets??

Okay.  So, in the pic above this pup is taking a snooze in the same manner as her mama.  We thought it was just a puppy thing, but LuLu still lays this way!  We call her the 'frog dog' whenever we catch her in the act :-}

Both our boys love, love spending time with the pups!  And it sure is nice to have their help in taking care of these guys.

July 29th, 2013...

All the puppies are growing so well and beginning to find their little legs.  They are adorable to watch as they tumble around.  Their eyes are also beginning to open!  It won't be long now until they're all over the place!!

Mid-stretch... :-}

So absolutely precious!

I have to say this little guy has managed to steal my heart!  He is just so easy going.  Definitely going to make a great buddy for somebody!!

This little fella is absolutely sacked out!  We always get a big kick out of how they all pile on top of one another and can somehow manage to sleep amid all the squirming activity around them.

I came in the other day to find this puppy crawling all over Lu's head...she would seem not to notice!

a basket full of pups...

Check back soon for more pics of these precious pooches!

July 21st, 2013...

We are absolutely thrilled at the arrival of LuLu's twelve little ones! That's right, TWELVE!!! They made their arrival Thursday evening {well, except for three who came along after midnight!}.  Amazingly, we have six boys and six girls, and Mom and babies are all doing wonderfully.  These puppies have been covered in prayer from the moment we found out Lu was pregnant, and we are so thankful that the LORD has seen fit to answer those prayers and bless us with one healthy brood!!

July 22nd, 2013...

Absolute preciousness!  I love those little baby noses...hoping some of them turn out to have a liver nose.

 Lu is such a sweet mama, very attentive to her babies.

All in a row...

Poor Wrigley...he doesn't know what to think about all these puppies!!!
