Here's our big red furry dog, and I'm not talking about Clifford, Folks! This is our Wrigley. Such a sweetheart! Wrig is an F1b golden doodle. What does that mean? His dad is a standard poodle (top-notch French poodle, I might add!), and his mommy is a first generation golden doodle, meaning that her parent dogs were a golden retriever and a poodle. Wrigley is what's considered a backcross, meaning that one of his hybrid golden doodle parents, in this case, the female, was bred back to a poodle, giving him more poodle than golden retriever, not to mention that lovely coat of hair that stays on him and not all over my furniture!
I LOVE this photo! Here I am holding the great big 'teddy bear'. |
No, it's not a different dog. These pics were taken after a much needed haircut. That curly poodle hair becomes more obvious after a visit with the 'barber'!
This snow was a rare treat, and Wrigley took full advantage! I think right here he really does look like something you'd come up on in the wild! Hmmm, maybe if bears ate snowcones, this is kind of what they'd look like???
Wrig sports a new fleece our sweet neighbor made for him. Dashing, huh! |
